Kyren Williams

For the fifth straight game, Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams has played an instrumental role in helping his team to victory thanks to his outstanding rushing ability and strong nose for the end zone. Notre Dame came out on top last Saturday against Navy with a 34-6 win at home. Williams who rushed for two touchdowns against Navy now has eight in his last five games.

Closing out the second half, Notre Dame and Navy were tied 3-3, but after a push up the field by the Irish offense, Notre Dame found themselves in the red zone. With just under three minutes left on the clock, Williams with a goal line rush pushed into the end zone giving the Irish their lead of the game, one they would not relinquish for the rest of the contest.

In the fourth quarter as the Irish held a 19-6 lead, Williams scored on a 20-yard rush to put the Irish in a commanding position to finish out the game. Though he did bobble the ball in the end zone, the ruling on the field was confirmed and 6 points were secured.

Williams finished the game with 95 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns and 36 yards on seven receptions. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the Paul Horning Award Honor Roll for the third straight week.

The No. 7 ranked Notre Dame now prepared for a big game against Virginia this Saturday the 13th at 7:30 PM. A win in this contest would put Notre Dame in a great spot heading into the final stretch of the season where teams are battling for a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
